Holiday Accommodation in Ilfracombe
Ilfracombe was a 'safe port' in days of old, bustling with sea orientated activities, local fisherman, traders and the like. Today it is more of a bustling holiday resort in the summer months, but there is still a very active fishing community, with great fresh fish, crabs and lobsters on offer, often caught locally in and around the Lundy area. Needless to say, the local eateries have delicious fresh fish on offer, including the local chippies!
You can definitely feel the maritime history in the air, the buildings and the people that live and work there. There is plenty of accommodation available, ranging from holiday cottages to flats and studios, as there are plenty of restaurants, shops, amenities and excursions to nearby areas including the magnificent Exmoor and boat trips to Lundy.
There are many great things to se and do in Ilfracombe itself, not forgetting the infamous Tunnels Beaches, well worth a look and a day out, it also has its own safe tidal pool.
