During these very difficult unprecedented times, we are working relentlessly to support and protect our guests, owners, staff and local community.

Our Approach

Following the government’s announcement on 23rd June 2020 confirming self catering accommodation will be released from Lockdown on 4th July 2020, Woolacombe Cottages are delighted to be able to welcome our guests safely in accordance with government guidelines.

Our business is fully compliant with government requirements and is accredited through the  Visit England ‘Good To Go’ scheme.

We recognise the importance of keeping our guests, owners, staff and local community safe as such have taken extensive measures to reduce the risk of spread of COVID-19.

Here are some of the measures we will be taking to help protect everyone;

COVID Risk Assessment undertaken at our office and each property

Every property Woolacombe Cottages are responsible for the changeovers on will be ‘Misted’ with a 7 log Kill rate hospital grade disinfectant on each changeover in addition to the extensive cleaning routine- this will help to neutralise any virus throughout the property from soft furnishings to high reach areas with particular focus on ‘High touch Points’

Each changeover team have a very extensive protocol to fulfil, all products will be compliant with current standards

Disposable remote control sleeves will be provided on every changeover

Mattress protectors and pillow protectors will be changed on every changeover in addition to all linen

All cleaners will be equipped with PPE

Guests will be provided with hand sanitisers, 6 log kill rate disinfectant, and an emergency PPE kit provided

All property information will be sent to guests digitally prior to arrival with COVID information

Books, games, toys, paper, and non-essential soft furnishings will be removed from properties

Links with local businesses offering deliveries to our holiday properties reducing the need to regularly visit shops during your stay- details of these services will be sent to our guests prior to their arrival.

Links and discounts with local attractions and activity centres enabling guests to book in advance and discuss any queries prior to arrival.

Friendly local service available on the phone and text service available 24 x 7 for guests to easily contact us for assistance or to report any health concerns.


As a small local family business we understand and can relate to the impact COVID-19 is causing, as such our aim is to assist each booking with a personalised approach to reassure our guests and owners, our team are doing all we possibly can to ease this difficult situation. We are on hand to talk, both Penny and Tracey will be pleased to discuss any queries or concerns and assist.

Please understand our phone lines may be busy during certain periods as such e-mails may be the most efficient method of contact. Should you prefer to speak direct, we aim to respond to all calls as swiftly as possible.

Moving Forward

Guests will be required to confirm prior to their arrival they do not display any symptoms.

Should guests display any symptoms during their stay they must contact our office immediately.

Full information will be available in digital format in relation to preventing the risk of COVID-19.

Woolacombe Cottages will honour the booking transfer guarantee on any bookings taken unable to travel owing to imposed restrictions in relation to COVID-19.

The current guidelines will be monitored regularly, we look forward to welcoming our valued guests as soon as it is safe to do so.
